For one is regarded favorably (is approved, acceptable, and thankworthy) if, as in the sight of God, he endures the pain of unjust suffering.
[After all] what kind of glory [is there in it] if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you take it patiently? But if you bear patiently with suffering [which results] when you do right and that is undeserved, it is acceptable and pleasing to God.
{1 Peter 2:19-20 Amplified Bible}
I Know I truly have to trust God in this verse and meditate upon it because my natural instincts definitely would prefer to just retaliate back but think of it this way would it be better for me to retaliate? Or would it be better for God to retaliate? He promises that revenge is His and to leave room for His wrath, He will not let them get away for what they unjustly do to us. Scripture tells us; “ My friends, don’t try and get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. For it is written, I am the One who judges people. I will pay them back” says the LORD. {Romans 12:19, Deuteronomy 32:35}NIrV
Scripture also goes on to say; If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads”
“Don’t let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing good.” {Romans 12:20-21}
God knows the pain we endure and suffer, the unjust treatment of others. Scripture also tells us “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” {2 Timothy 3:12} But the Lord our God has made a promise to Abraham and extends that Promise to all His children “I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you“… {Gen 12:3} When I go to the Lord in prayer I am often filled with compassion feeling sorry for those who are giving me and other people ill-treatment because a person reaps what they sow. God is so Faithful.
Just remember this;
“Strength and Dignity are her Clothing; She can laugh at the days to come.” {Proverbs 31:25}
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them. {Proverbs 24:17-18}
