I LOVE THE STORY OF THE WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH
The Word of the Lord came to Elijah and God told him to go and stay in this town Zarephath and a woman would help supply him some bread. I love the principles in God’s word, we learn that God always provides. None of them that trust in Him shall be desolate. He makes a way out of no way.
She was an empty woman, ready to give up on life, it was just her and her son running on empty. Elijah asked this woman for some water and bread, here is her reply in 1 Kings 17:12 And she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”
She sounds discouraged and empty but Elijah has good news for her. He tells her the word of the LORD: do not fear, The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.’” and she does exactly what he tells her to do.
God’s principles are the best. What do I have in my hands? What can I work with now? Do I trust Him?
The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the LORD that he spoke by Elijah. 1 Kings 17:16
