Military Life

               This is the first time I've ever been stationed overseas; in a foreign land. My husband and I came to Italy with many expectations. This is the first time in 8 1/2 years that we choose to move overseas so that he could have shore duty and would not have to be deployed and no more duty days. We took the orders and perceived the tour to be a mini vacation. A getaway, where we could spend time together and the children would have daddy around more often, we wanted a more normal life. We wanted marriage bliss. :)

The truth is, this has been spiritual warfare that I have never expected. A battle ground, an Island where there is no where to run but to the LORD. There has been so much strain on my marriage in every department. This is the first time in my husbands military career, where he has had to work the hardest, with long working hours. His job is so demanding, he has a duty cell phone that constantly needs his attention, his time and focused energy. from calls, to emails, and long vigorous working hours. The enemy is well aware of our weaknesses, he is well aware of the cracks in our hearts. the enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy. The bible tells us about the adulterous woman, a brazen woman, a woman who is out to find a man who does not belong to her. Her lips are filled with lies, her speech is smooth. Basically, she tells a man everything he dreams to hear. {Proverbs 6-7}
 The spirit of darkness does exist, while the devil is on the prowl and look out, seeking, who he can devour. The most wonderful thing is; the Light shines in the darkness, Jesus equips one with all that they need. Because of the cross, it's not over! Because of the cross, I can cover my husband in prayer and anoint him with oil. Because of the cross, I can captivate my husband with my love. Because of the cross, I can stand in expectation that GOD hears and will answer my prayers. It is Faith, not what I see, but what is unseen. I believe God! HE has His best interest for us. We can pray according to God's will. We can pray the scriptures over our husbands, we can put all our expectations in the LORD. For GOD will never fail us. The LORD will saturate us with His Love. He has promised to rescue us in time of need or in time of trouble.

Then I called on the name of the LORD; "O LORD, save me!"
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
 {Psalm 116:4,13}

Let's be women who beautify our selves in the LORD, with gracious speech, loving kindness, gentleness and a heart filled with forgiveness. For that is true beauty, indeed.
